Thanks to a new program developed through a partnership between Topeka Public Schools and Washburn University, T'Ahjanae Ray, a sophomore in the College Prep Academy, will be attending college full-time starting in the Fall.
The college prep program opened in 2018 and the rigor and advanced level of coursework ensure students take their ACT exam as ninth-graders and gain a score that meets the college admission criteria. These students perform multiple grade levels above their peers.
The district has secured partner donations to contribute to the cost of tuition that will provide a full scholarship for their first student to attend.
T'Ahjanae will graduate with her associate's degree in liberal arts and her high school diploma at the same time. We are so proud to offer this opportunity to our CPA students to continue to excel and propel themselves to be successful in the future.
