Transportation

Welcome to Transportation

How we support Topeka Public Schools

The transportation department serves the students of Topeka Public Schools by making sure they are transported to school safely everyday.

Students must be at least 1.75 miles from their home school address to receive free transportation. The eligibility of bus services is determined by the student's home address not a relative or a day care provider.

If you have a non-eligible student looking for transportation to and from school please contact Kansas Central School Bus at 785-233-2009 for paid transportation.

Students should always be at their assigned bus stop 15 minutes prior to their pickup time.

More information about school bus safety can be found here.

Kansas has a stop arm law, learn more here.

If you want to color with your student and teach them more about school bus safety, check out this activity book.

Remember school bus safety is EVERYONE'S RESPONSIBILTY!

New Bus Tracking App

In the fall of 2019, a new app called "Here Comes the Bus" will be available to TPS families. This app will allow parents to track their student's bus along the route. To learn more about the app in English click here, and in Spanish click here.
