Lisa Schmitt was born and raised in
Topeka, Kansas where she graduated from Topeka High School. A life long
learner, she received her Associate’s in Management from Highland Community
College, an Associate’s in Radiologic Technology from Washburn University, a
Bachelor’s in Medical Health Imaging from Washburn University, and will
graduate in May with her Master’s in Organizational Leadership from Baker
University.
She is married to David Schmitt, Jr.
who is also a graduate of Topeka High School. All four of their children
are products of Topeka Public Schools (TPS), with their youngest currently
being a junior at Topeka High School. Their newest family role includes
that of grandparents to Jack.
Mrs. Schmitt currently works at
Hill’s Pet Nutrition as a Global Product Manager for Hill’s Retail Order and
Vet eCommerce. As a parent, Lisa volunteered in multiple Parent Teacher
Organizations (PTO) as well the District Citizen’s Advisory Council (DCAC)
within TPS. Currently she volunteers through her church, Fellowship Bible
Church; as well as teaching and training classes for the National Alliance for
Mental Illness (NAMI).
