Topeka Public Schools is dedicated to ensuring all students have taken the needed steps to further their education post-high school, either by going to college or obtaining training in a career field to enter the workforce. To obtain this, we will work with the whole family to complete processes for post-secondary education, making sure students have completed all coursework and helping them explore future plans.
The district provides on the job training opportunities for students to learn skills and experience what a day in their selected field is like. These job shadowing opportunities occur both within the district, as well as in the community. In addition, TPS staff work to help students find internship opportunities to be able to get a more in-depth look at career fields.
If you have questions regarding opportunities, please contact your child's counselor at their school or Laura Nichols at [email protected]
