TPS Staff Featured in Education Week Series

Three Topeka Public School College & Career Advisors are Featured in Education Week's 'Reason for Hope' Series

Three Topeka Public Schools staff members were featured in Education Week’s ‘Reasons for Hope’ video series. This series features short videos from teachers, administrators, support staff, and students from schools across the nation expressing what they are hopeful for in the new school year.

 

The three TPS staff members featured in the series are Ms. Rose Cantrell, Ms. Kathleen Foster, and Ms. Paige Vander Linden. Each of these women serves as a college and career advocate for the district and have similar hopes for the upcoming school year. The overarching theme of their wishes and hopes for the year: the hope that their students will have the ability to visit colleges, engage with professionals in their chosen career path, and be better prepared for their life after graduation.

 

Ms. Cantrell, Ms. Foster, and Ms. Vander Linden each expressed a desire to get college representatives and professionals in their students’ fields of interest back into schools. They hope that students will have an opportunity to learn about their choices and possibilities and get excited about life their future.

The videos featured in the series cover all fifty states, Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico. The three TPS staff members featured are the only people from Kansas included in this campaign.
