TPS Students & Staff Honor Ruby Bridges on Walk to School Day in Kansas

Topeka Public Schools students, staff, and families are invited to join us in recognizing the incredible anniversary of Ruby Bridges' courageous walk to school on Tuesday, November 14, as we celebrate Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day in Kansas. Her bravery and resilience continue to inspire us all as we uplift education, equality, and unity.

Activities will take place across the district during the school day, and we invite you to share your own activities and photos on Facebook using the hashtags #rubybridgeswalktoschoolday2023 and #rbwtsd2023.

Last month, TPS scholars, educators, parents, and legislators from across Kansas joined Governor Laura Kelly as she signed the Proclamation to declare November 14, 2023, as Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day in Kansas.
