Antioch Baptist Church donated $1,500 to Topeka Public Schools.

Antioch Missionary Baptist Church has gifted $1,500 to Topeka Public Schools. Pastor Hicks T.D. Hicks and members of the church’s congregation delivered the check during Topeka Public Schools’ September 2, 2021 Board of Education meeting.

The donation was collected through numerous supply and donation drives and meant to benefit TPS families in need. Rather than donating money to a TPS school, Antioch Church asks that the money be given to Topeka Public Schools’ families that need a little bit of extra help. It will be given to families in the form of $10 gift cards.

According to Pastor Hicks, the gift cards are meant to act as a blessing to families and to the community. He explained that regardless of how the gift cards are spent whether it be “$5 of gas or a gallon of milk, we just want theme to be blessed, and able to be a blessing to the community.”

Antioch Baptist Church intends to donate an additional 25 gift cards each month through January 2022.
