Superintendent Message

  • Dear Topeka Public School District Families and Staff:

As we begin the 2017-18 year, we are celebrating the many accomplishments that we experienced in 2017 that continues to distinguish us as a national leader in many areas. In 2017, Topeka was the only district in Kansas to win a Magna Award, which is the highest award a district can receive from the National School Board Association honoring innovative practices.

As a result of our supportive community, the passing of a multi-million dollar bond has resulted in new FEMA standard shelters at schools, expanded preschool classrooms and added technology in all grades K-12, giving every student their own technology device to use in school. We are continuing to build for the future by opening the Jardine STEAM Academy, resulting in the first innovative science, technology, engineering, art and math focused school in Shawnee County. We recognize that the collective support of parent and community partners, such as Advisors Excel, United Way of Greater Topeka, The Topeka Community Foundation, The Greater Topeka Chamber of Commerce, Westar Energy and many others, we are building a strong foundation for our scholars who will positively impact the future of Topeka and Shawnee County.

Thank you for your continued support for students and staff in Topeka Public Schools.

    Sincerely,

    Dr. Tiffany Anderson
