Nursing Services

The following services are provided at the Health Connection Clinic:

  • Treatment of minor injuries such as cuts, abrasions, burns, sprains, strains, contusions, etc.;
  • Evaluation and triage of injuries to determine when hospital treatment is necessary;
  • Follow-up care including dressing changes, suture removal, and wound examination;
  • Care and support for the injured employees to expedite their return to work;
  • Interaction with supervisors and physicians to further implement medical orders and restrictions;
  • Screenings provided for blood pressure, cholesterol, and glucose;
  • Consultation with a health care professional who can offer assistance with medical questions in a confidential setting;
  • Referrals can be made to specified community services and agencies;
  • Promotion of health and wellness issues throughout Topeka Public Schools.
