Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA's)

TPS employees have the opportunity to participate in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), which allows an employee to set aside a pretax portion of his/her paycheck to help offset personal health and/or childcare expenses. Employees then submit receipts against the collected funds for reimbursement.

The program year runs October 1 through September 30, and employees may continue to make claims against their accounts until December 31. Enrollment is available when an employee is hired; otherwise, changes in the participation or deduction amount can only be made during the Benefits Fair held each fall.

TPS Staff Sick Leave Sharing Policy

TPS staff have the benefit of sick leave sharing should they experience a situation in which their leave time doesn't cover all of their time off of work, and it is approved through the human resources department. Depending on your classification of employment, you can donate and receive sick leave in the following increments:

Classified employees may donate unlimited days per fiscal year to other classified employee.

Professional/certified employees may donate up to three days per fiscal year to any other certified or classified employee.

Administrators may donate one day per fiscal year to any district employee.

The sick leave sharing recipient is limited to a total of 40 sick leave sharing days per occurrence. The 40-day limit may be waived by the General Director of Human Resources. Sick leave donated through this program will be paid at the recipient’s hourly rate of pay. For all details about sick leave sharing, please reference your employee handbook.
