Topeka West Students Shine at NHD Exhibit Showcase
On December 11, fourteen Topeka West High School scholars from Mrs. Nelson’s History Inquiry class proudly presented their National History Day (NHD) exhibit projects. These students have been hard at work since the beginning of the school year, researching meaningful historic topics and developing exhibits that reflect months of in-depth research, analysis, and creative presentation.
Aligned with this year’s NHD theme, Revolution, Reaction, Reform in History, each project explored significant moments and movements that have shaped our world. Their thoughtful work highlights the dedication, curiosity, and academic excellence of Topeka West scholars.
Students now have the opportunity to advance their work at the upcoming NHD competitions:
• Regional Competition: February 28 at Washburn University
• State Competition: April 18 at Seaman Middle School
• National Competition: June 14–18, 2026 at the University of Maryland
We look forward to cheering them on as they advance through each stage of the competition.
