20 Students Commit to the Teaching Pathway at TCALC
Topeka Public Schools is proud to share that 20 high school students from across the district have officially committed to the Youth Teacher Apprenticeship Program through TCALC.

This innovative program, created in partnership with Washburn University, Kansas Department of Commerce and the Kansas State Department of Education, provides students with a unique opportunity to gain hands-on classroom experience, earn college credit, and work toward an associate degree while still in high school.
By the time these students graduate, they will have already earned up to 60 college credits, placing them well on their way to completing a four-year degree in education. This not only accelerates their path to becoming licensed teachers but also helps address the growing need for future educators in Kansas and beyond.

These 20 students represent the next generation of leaders who are preparing to make a lasting impact in classrooms and communities for years to come. Their commitment reflects Topeka Public Schools’ dedication to preparing every student for college, career, and life success.
