Topeka Public Schools is excited to offer a variety of academic and enrichment summer programs for students from PreK to 12th grade. These programs are designed to provide a fun, engaging, and educational experience for students during the summer months. Below are the details for each program:
Academic Summer Programs
We are offering academically enriched summer camps at Scott Dual Language Magnet and Williams Science and Fine Arts Magnet for grades K-5. These camps will provide academically diverse and intellectually challenging experiences, helping students continue their learning while having fun!
Enrichment Summer Programs
Our enrichment camps will be held at Whitson Elementary, Jardine Middle School, and TCALC. Students can engage in exciting courses such as coding/robotics, chess, art, and cooking, giving them the opportunity to explore new skills and interests outside the traditional classroom setting.
Preschool Summer Program
Shaner Early Learning Academy will be offering an academic and enrichment PK Summer Camp for all students in Topeka Public Schools who attended PreK in the 2024-2025 school year. Activities will include coding/robotics, art, gardening, and much more! Please note that all students must be toilet trained in order to participate in this program.
Registration Information

Registration Dates: Families can register starting now and through April 20th. Registration will be done online via Synergy ParentVue, with payment made through MySchoolBucks. After setting up your account with MySchoolBucks, you will receive an email notification when the fee is available for payment.
Fees:

TPS Students: $50 per student per week, with a $10 non-refundable deposit.

Non-TPS Students: $100 per student per week, with a $20 non-refundable deposit.

Transportation: There will be no transportation provided for the summer programs. However, middle and high school students will have free access to the Topeka Metro through the Kids Ride Free program.

Breakfast & Lunch: Breakfast will be served at 8:00 AM, and lunch at 11:30 AM. Families should plan to pick up students by 12:00 PM.

Credit Recovery & Acquisition for High School Students

Topeka Public Schools is offering a Summer Experience for high school students (grades 9-12) from June 2 to 27, providing opportunities for credit recovery and credit acquisition. This program allows students to recover credits for previously failed courses or get ahead by taking additional courses they wish to complete.
Classes will be held Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at various locations, including Cap City School, Hope Street Academy, Highland Park High School, Topeka High School, Topeka West High School, and Topeka Virtual. Transportation is provided at no cost through the Topeka Transit 'Kids Ride Free' program.
Students will engage in online learning through Edgenuity and other computer-assisted programs, with access to teacher support during class time. A $25 refundable fee is required upon completion of coursework.
Registration is open through May 16, 2025, and students are encouraged to submit their application early due to limited class spaces.
