Lisa Schmitt, a lifelong resident of Topeka, Kansas, graduated from Topeka High School and has dedicated her career to public service and community leadership. A committed learner, she earned an Associate’s Degree in Management from Highland Community College, an Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology and a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Health Imaging from Washburn University, and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership from Baker University.
Mrs. Schmitt brings extensive experience in public service, having held roles in state agencies, nonprofits, and private businesses. As Shawnee County Clerk, she currently serves the citizens of Shawnee County with a focus on efficiency and accessibility.
Married to David Schmitt, Jr., a fellow Topeka High School graduate, Lisa is the proud mother of four children, all educated in Topeka Public Schools. She has been an active volunteer, serving in Parent Teacher Organizations and the District Citizen’s Advisory Council within Topeka Public Schools. Mrs. Schmitt continues to give back to the community as a board member for NAMI Kansas, where she also teaches and trains classes to support mental health advocacy.
