Lalo Munoz was born and raised in Topeka, Kansas where he graduated from Topeka High School. Following high school, he attended and graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor's in American Studies. He has served as Executive Director of El Centro of Topeka since 2009. He is a regular volunteer at the elementary school where his three children attend in USD 501.
In the Topeka community, Mr. Munoz serves as Board member of Chairs Council for the Greater Topeka Partnership. In addition, he co-chairs the East Topeka Council focusing on bringing equity to an overlooked part of the city. For two years he guided and chaired the completed Washburn Tech East Campus, a $5.5 million dollar investment in East Topeka that opened in June of 2019.
