Teacher for Tomorrow is a program to help those currently in the education field advance their education to obtain a teaching degree. There are currently six different universities offering this program. See details below.
Kansas State University—Earn a masters degree and elementary teaching license online in 12 months. Click here for more information.
Washburn University—Designed for people currently working as a para-professional who would like to become a Licensed Teacher in Special Education or STEM. Contact Dr. Gloria Dye at Gloria.email@example.com for more information.
MidAmerica Nazarene University—Accelerated Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. This on-site program is structured so you can work toward a bachelor’s degree in elementary or licensure in a flexible format, built specifically for working adults. You can complete a degree or licensure program in only 18 months. Click here for more information.
Friends University— The Elementary Education Program prepares adult students to teach grades K-6. Most classes are offered in the evening to allow you to maintain your work, family and other commitments. However, there are occasional daytime and Saturday requirements as you complete your field experiences, including student teaching. Click here for more information.
Pittsburg State—PSU is the only university in the state of Kansas to offer an Online Masters of Arts in Teaching with an emphasis in Special Education (Adaptive Level 6-12). This program is designed for paraprofessionals with a BS or BA degree in a non-teaching content area who want to teach adaptive special education in grades 6-12. Wichita State — WSU offers a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Unified/Elementary Education in a fully online curriculum for para-professionals. Applications can be accessed at Wichita.edu/apply. Choose the TRANSFER application, Online program, and select Early Childhood Unified-Elementary Education Apprentice-TAP as the major.
