Students in the Emergency and Fire Management pathway will begin the pathway with an introductory course designed to provide students with knowledge of occupations available in the law, public safety and security (LPSS) fields. Numerous guest speakers, site visits and classroom instruction will introduce them to the legal system, professional conduct, safety and types of crime. Following the LPSS course, students then investigate and practice the skills for the EMT certification test and the Firefighter I national certification test.
Pathway focus areas include: emergency medical care, fire behavior, fire fighting equipment and rescue and safety procedures.
*Students must be 18 years old to sit for the certifications tests.
