The Teaching as a Profession pathway will familiarize students with teaching and other education related professions. Students will engage in active observations and internships with Pre-K through 12th grade education, special education, English Language Learners and others. The pathway focus areas include: human development, educational history and theories, quality teacher traits, planning and preparation, the learning environment, instruction, student achievement, high need areas, diversity, ethics, career planning and job hunting skills and professional responsibilities in the workplace.
Students will learn 21st century skills, technology and professional writing to prepare them to be college and career-ready in the education field. Students will be able to experience a rewarding profession where they can truly make a difference.
