Distinguished Staff

The Distinguished Staff Award is the highest honor and award bestowed on a staff member by the Board of Education of Topeka Public Schools. The Distinguished Staff Awards were created in 1989 as a way to recognize the outstanding performance of TPS staff in their direct and indirect service to our students.

Staff members honored here have distinguished themselves in their service to the children of Topeka. They were nominated by their peers based on the following criteria: Experience, Evidence of Effectiveness (Attitude and Competence), Community Involvement, Zeal in Promoting the Advancement of Education, and their Interest in the Profession.
