The Adult Education Center offers classes that help students make educational gains in areas such as reading, writing and math. These classes help students prepare for the GED Exam and increase their skills necessary for employment, self-sufficency and the promotion of educational development in their children. English as a Second Language (ESL) classes are offered for non-native speakers to increase their ability to speak, read and write English.
Morning, afternoon, and evening classes are offered at our Washburn Tech location. To attend classes, applicants must be at least 16 years of age and not enrolled in school. Students must enroll by attending a 3-day Orientation session and pay a $30.00 orientation fee (cash or money order, payable to Topeka Public Schools).
A recognition ceremony is held each spring to honor those that have earned their Kansas State High School Diploma. Family and friends are welcome to attend the ceremony, which is typically held on a Sunday early in June. Check the Calendar for the date and time of the upcoming ceremony.
